About
One of Canada’s brightest up-and-coming stars on the blue line, Jaime Bourbonnais, a Toronto native, was selected 9th overall by New York in the inaugural PWHL Draft.
In 2015, Bourbonnais took home gold at the National Women’s U18 Championship and earned Top Defenceman honours, later clinching silver with the squad at the 2016 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship.
An alumna of Cornell University, Bourbonnais picked up 1.24 points per game in her senior year, second most in the NCAA among defencemen, and earned the title of ECAC Defenceman of the Year.
Despite her young age, the defenceman has already represented Canada on the international stage in multiple capacities, picking up a gold medal in 2021 and a silver medal in 2023 at the IIHF World Championships.
Bourbonnais’ connection to Hockey Canada runs deep as her grandfather, Roger Bourbonnais, captained Canada’s men’s team at both the 1964 and 1968 Olympics, won two more medals at the IIHF World Championships, and was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame.
The blueliner’s hockey-centric pedigree and early success foreshadows this future star’s path in professional hockey.
