Emma Söderberg is one of the best goaltenders in the world, and has already won the hearts of North American hockey fans as she was selected 58th overall by Boston in the inaugural PWHL Draft.
Hailing from Järved, Sweden, Söderberg completed her NCAA career at the University of Minnesota Duluth. While standing between the pipes for the Bulldogs, Söderberg earned the title of Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Goaltender of the Year, became a national finalist for Goaltender of the Year, and was declared WCHA's Outstanding Student-Athlete of the Year.
After making her Olympic debut in Beijing 2022, Söderberg cemented her status as an elite goaltender at the 2023 IIHF World Championship performance where she was voted tournament all-star for her performance in the quarterfinal against Canada that saw 51 saves on 54 shots. Most impressively, she was voted Swedish Player of the Year for her remarkable performance.
Despite her young age, Söderberg has accomplished more than what most goalies have in their entire career, and is destined to be one of the greatest goalies women’s hockey has witnessed.
